Green Energy

In 2006, United Materials completed construction of a six turbine windfarm, now known as Horseshoe Bend. The project has an output of 9 Megawatts of energy, which is enough power going onto the grid to power roughly 2,400 homes. Through construction of the substation that United Materials built in connection with the windmills, United Materials was able to begin purchasing power off the grid to replace the generators that had powered the gravel plants for many years. This venture was a win-win all the way around.
